A Direct Proposal lets a Marketer choose a specific website in the Posticy Marketplace and ask its Publisher to publish a selected article. The Publisher reviews the proposal and decides whether to accept it.
Before you start
- Use your Marketer dashboard and create a Project for the website or campaign you are promoting.
- Prepare an article in My Content under the correct Project. Review its language, accuracy, images, target URL and anchor text, and make sure you have the necessary rights.
- Check that the Publisher accepts your topic and that the website's language, service format, price and link requirements fit your campaign.

1. Choose a website
Open Marketplace in the Marketer menu. Use the search and available filters, such as price, language, category, country, traffic, SEO metrics, link attribution type and service format, to narrow your options.
Click the website name to open Website Details. Review its Publisher, placement information, price and estimated publication time. SEO metrics and response or publication estimates are information for your assessment, not guarantees of rankings, traffic or delivery time.
Confirm any specific requirements with the Publisher before acceptance, including content restrictions, link attributes, disclosures, timing and publication duration. Unless a different period is agreed before acceptance, the default publication period is at least 12 months from first publication. A label such as “Permanent Placement” does not replace the agreed terms.
2. Open the proposal form
Click Publish Article on the website details page. The button displays the listed price and opens Create Article Publication Proposal. Opening this form does not publish your article.
3. Select your Project and article
- Under Select Project, choose the Project this placement is for. Check the selected Project even if one is already filled in.
- Under Select Article, choose the article associated with that Project. The selectors also provide Add New Project and Add New Article options when you need to prepare these first.
- Review the displayed Target URL and Anchor Text. Use the View full article control to check the content before submission.
If the wrong article or link appears, correct your selection or update the content in My Content before submitting. See Manage URLs and Anchors Effectively.
4. Add a message and review the summary
Message to Publisher is optional. Use it to explain your request and any requirements clearly. Check the selected website, Project, article and Publication Price in Proposal Summary.
On the Free plan, submitting a Direct Proposal uses Marketer Connects based on the applicable price tier. The current requirement should be displayed before confirmation. Premium covers eligible proposal actions for the account performing them, subject to fair use. A Publisher on the Free plan also uses Connects when accepting a Direct Proposal; each account's Premium coverage applies independently. The placement price remains payable separately. See Understanding Connects on Posticy.
5. Submit and wait for Publisher review
When your selections and requirements are correct, click Submit Proposal. The Publisher can review your article and request adjustments or accept or reject the proposal. Use Posticy communication to keep the agreed requirements and any changes recorded.
A binding Order is created when the Publisher accepts the Direct Proposal. Posticy automatically generates an invoice in the Publisher's name. Payment is required before publication; payment is not the event that creates the contract.
Payment, delivery and review
Pay the Publisher directly using the available payment method, such as Stripe or PayPal. Posticy does not hold independent placement payments in an escrow account or wallet. Where manual invoicing is enabled by an administrator, follow the agreed payment instructions and receipt-verification process.
After publication, the Publisher must officially deliver the published URL through the Order. Review the delivered article, links and agreed requirements. Request corrections through the Order when needed. The review period is five days after official delivery, and an outstanding revision request prevents automatic completion. Order completion does not end the agreed ongoing publication and link obligations.
See Understanding Order Statuses for Marketers for the full workflow.
Rejection, cancellation and changes
If the Publisher rejects a Direct Proposal, or the Marketer cancels it before acceptance, the Marketer's submission Connects are restored. A pending proposal with no response does not by itself qualify for restoration. Cancellation after acceptance does not create a blanket entitlement to a Connects refund.
Once accepted, changes to the price, article, website or other agreed terms require the other party's agreement. Editing content in My Content does not automatically change the published article or the accepted Order.
Direct Proposal or Offer Request?
Use a Direct Proposal when you have already chosen the website. Use an Offer Request when you want matching Publishers to submit proposals based on your criteria and budget. With an Offer Request, the Marketer's Accept Proposal action creates the Order without a second Publisher acceptance. See Offer Requests for Marketers.
