How Payment Works for Publishers

If you are wondering whether Posticy pays you or whether you need to bill someone, the short answer is this: you issue the invoice, and the marketer pays you directly. For independent marketplace placements, Posticy does not hold the placement funds or act as escrow. Posticy’s own managed services follow their separate service agreement.

Payment comes before publishing
Payment is not something that waits until you finish an order. When you accept a proposal, you choose how to be paid, and that choice creates the invoice. You have three options:

  • Stripe: with a verified Stripe account, the invoice is generated automatically in your name. Review its amount, currency, and due date. Payment is required before publication.
  • PayPal: with a connected PayPal account, an invoice is created automatically there.
  • Manual invoice: paste a PayPal invoice link or upload a file (PDF, image or Word, up to 5 MB). This is available only if an admin has enabled it for your account.
So with Stripe or PayPal you do not build an invoice from scratch, but it is still your invoice, issued in your name. Its link is posted in the order chat and both sides are notified.

Where the money goes
The marketer pays your invoice on Stripe's or PayPal's own page, and the funds go to your connected account. Posticy is not a party to that payment; it only records that it happened. Anything after that, such as moving money to your bank, is handled by Stripe or PayPal under your own account settings.

With a manual invoice there is no automatic signal, so the marketer confirms payment by submitting a transaction ID. That ID is typed by hand, so check that the money has actually arrived before you publish.

What happens next
Once payment is confirmed, the order moves to in progress and you publish the article. After publication, a five-day review period runs before the order is marked completed, unless the marketer accepts earlier.

How Posticy earns
Posticy charges for platform usage through Connects or subscriptions, separately from Publisher placement prices. Connects requirements depend on the action and price. Restoration applies to specific Proposal and Offer Request events; it is not a blanket refund for every cancelled Order. Review the Connects guide for the applicable rules.

Orders from Offer Requests

When you respond to an Offer Request using Submit Proposal, you agree to fulfil it if the Marketer accepts. The Marketer's acceptance creates a binding Order and an invoice automatically in your name. Payment is required before publication and is made directly to your payment account.

Refunds and disputes

Acceptance forms a binding Order before payment. Cancelling an accepted Order does not automatically refund Connects or placement fees. Direct placement refunds and disputes are handled between the Users and, where applicable, the payment provider. A genuine payment dispute or good-faith refund request is not itself a Terms violation. See the Terms and Conditions.
